Coffee & Tea

  • Happy Bones

Really nice little “Australian” coffee shop hidden away in the back of a clothing shop on Bond Street in Noho. I found this spot by accident at first and it quickly became a favorite when I’m in the area. Try and find it, and get a flat white.

  • Court Street Bagels

I gotta be honest I like coffee shops that fit in my daily schedule and this spot is literally below my apartment. That being said, I felt like I had to mention Court Street Bagel in Cobble Hill because its where I get more coffee then any other place. They also have the best and freshest homemade NYC bagels I’ve ever eaten. Check it out ( only if its convenient of course).

  • Goose Barnacle

Is a really well curated mens shop on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn Heights. The shop has many unique brands that can’t really be found anywhere else in the city. The shop also hold a number of gallery openings, tastings and special events.

  • French Garment Cleaners Co.

I have to be honest this shop has only been on my radar for a few months but has quickly become one of my favorites. FGC has a huge variety of clothing and usually have some pretty good sales. My girlfriend I usually stop by on Saturdays when walking home from brunch or the Brooklyn Flea in Ft.Greene.

  • Battersby

Yet another spot in my neighborhood in Cobble Hill/Caroll Gardens on Smith Street. A great little spot that can be pretty hard to get into, but will worth it. The food is amazing, the cocktails are great and the ambiance is laid back, win-win-win for me.

  • Chuko

Absolute favorite place to get some pork buns and ramen. Small place and usually a little wait but the bar across gives discounts on drinks if you wait with them. Totally worth checking out.

  • The Brooklyn Inn

A small bar that has been around forever in Boerum Hill. Local atmosphere and most of the patrons have been going there for years. I like going there with friends randomly to play a couple games of pool.

  • Tom & Jerry's

Small no frills kinda bar located in Noho. For some reason this spot has been adopted as my spot to meet people after an opening or a show. Cheap drinks, good people and nice atmosphere, what else can you ask for?

  • Dead Horse Bay

An old garbage dump from the turn of the century by Rockaway inlet. At some point one of the old caps burst and now thousands of really old bottles can be found every where you step.. Definitely worth a few hour hike to see what you can find.

  • Rockaway Beach

I mean this definitely isn’t a secret but heading down to Rockaway beach during the summer in Queens is a blast. Great tacos, cheapish beer, tons of characters and lot’s of half naked 20 somethings. There are also buses that take you directly there throughout Brooklyn.
